Oscar Quintana

Oscar Quintana is a US Marine and an NPC Men’s Physique athlete. He was born and raised in Booth, Texas. “My town isn’t really meant for people with big dreams and aspirations of becoming more. Let alone the area that I spent majority of my childhood and teenage years, was not the best influence around me. Coming from an area, where teenage pregnancy, drugs and being arrested was the norm, made me realize even more I don’t belong where I’m from. I had to get out. After I graduated from high school in 2011 I tried college out. It didn’t last long, I became a drop out. I was lost and didn’t know what to really do with my life, the only thing I knew was that fitness was what I loved and was truly passionate about. In 2014 I decided to leave for the US Marine Corps Boot Camp on MCRD San Diego. My first duty station was Camp Pendleton, CA and everything that came with becoming a US Marine, was the best decision I’ve ever made”, says Oscar.

“As far as family goes, I’m not really close to mine. I don’t know my father he ran out on me at the age of 3 months old. I’m not really close to my mother, both by our doing. However, I did have examples and role models growing up, I owe it to my grandpa for showing me what it means to be a man, and what a real Dad should be. I’ve been through many things in life, such as being homeless after a really bad divorce, addiction to drugs and alcohol, depressed/suicidal. And the one thing that was always there for me was fitness”: @I.am.oscarquintana

In 2016, Oscar decided to do his first Men’s Physique competition in the NPC where he took the third place and instantly knew this was what he wanted to do. “I had reached out and had previous coaches before my current coach IFBB Pro Will Sage to help guide me in bringing my best out” says. Oscar is currently a Evogen Nutrition athlete.

“Fitness is not just a lifestyle for me, it’s therapy. It’s the escape from reality that I’ve always wanted. Even if it’s just for 90 minutes a day. I currently reside in Texas once again, due to military orders, alongside my Fiancé Samantha and our two cats Loki and Luna. And I train at my unit’s squadron gym. The main mission as of now, grow my physique, and be a possitive impact for others”
